Birthday Policy- We love to celebrate birthdays! Feel free to send in store bought treats (school policy) for your child's birthday or half birthday for summer birthday kiddos. We will celebrate birthdays around 2:45 in the afternoon. Please check with me about food allergies and class size because this tends to fluctuate throughout the year.
** Students are not allowed to pass out party invitations at school. We will have a class directory with classmates’ contact information for this purpose. **
Transportation- If there is a change in your child's way of going home, you must send me a note or call the office no later than 2:00. If I do not receive a phone call or note about a change, I will send the child home their usual means of transportation. This is for the safety of my Kinder friends.
Absence- If your child is ever absent from school, please send a note upon returning to school.
Snacks- Students are encouraged to bring a healthy snack each day to eat during snack time. We will have snack in the afternoon due to an early lunch time. We ask that the snack can be eaten within 5-10 minutes and that they can take care of it themselves i.e., peeling an orange. Please send their snack in a separate part of their backpack and do not include it with their lunch.
Classroom Management- In order to provide an engaging and safe educational environment for your child and all of the students in the classroom, these are a few rules that all students are expected to follow.
- Follow directions quickly.
- Raise your hand for permission to speak.
- Respect others, respect yourself, and respect this school.
- Make smart choices.
We do not use a clip or color system at Mt. Peak to track behavior. Especially in Kindergarten, the children are still learning to follow rules and what behavior is and is not socially acceptable. If there is a concern about behavior that I feel needs to be addressed at home, I will notify you. Minor infractions and learning opportunities will generally not result in a note or phone call home. If you have concerns, please contact me.
